Questions
What families ask first.
- What is Tribute Story?
- A short film about someone you love, made from your photos and videos. You answer a few questions in your own words and upload the photos. Tribute Story writes the story, writes music for it, cuts the film to the beat, and makes some of the photos move.
- How much does a tribute film cost?
- $80 for one film, paid once. There is no subscription and nothing recurring.
- What do I get for the $80?
- The story, music written for your film, photos that move where the film needs it, three rounds of changes after you watch the first cut, and the finished film in HD to download. We keep the film for six months.
- Can I see anything before I pay?
- Yes. Answering the questions, uploading your photos and reading the full plan of the film are free, and you can change the plan. You pay when you are happy with it, before the film is made. There is no free film.
- Can I make a film for someone who has died?
- Yes. A tribute film can be for a memorial as well as a birthday, an anniversary, a retirement or any other milestone. The story is written from what you tell us about the person.
- How long is the film?
- Up to 3 minutes, and 5 minutes at the most.
- How many photos and videos can I use?
- Up to 300 photos and videos in one film, with up to 15 minutes of video in all. A photo can be up to 25 MB, and a video up to 300 MB and 5 minutes long.
- How long does it take to make?
- It takes a while, not seconds. You do not have to wait on the page: we email you when the plan, the first cut and the finished film are ready.
- Can I make it on my phone?
- You need a computer to make the film. On a phone you can email yourself the link to start later, and you can watch and download the finished film.
- Can the film be in my language?
- Yes. The conversation and the words in the film follow the language you write in. The rest of the site is in English, and the price is in US dollars.
- Can I get a refund?
- Yes, within 30 days, as long as you have not downloaded the film. Write to [email protected]. If a film you paid for fails while we make it, we fix it or give you a full refund.
- How do I start?
- Tribute Story is in early access. Request an invite with your Google account, and we will email you when you can start.
